The case is an expensive hard shell and the guitar fits inside it nicely. The label on the inside reads, "Made in Finland, SL-2, Espana, Finest Guaranteed Quality, Imported by ESPANA GUITARS, 5 Union Square, New York 3, N.Y." It has fresh strings and it comes with the Alvarez case you see in the picture. Overall the guitar is solid and in EXCEPTIONAL condition for being 50 years old. It has minor scratches, scuffs and the finish has weather checking. The top is SOLID Canadian Spruce and fan braced. Built by Landola in Finland and most likely made in 1965, 1966 or 1967. There are some serials that start with 97 and 98. The serial number also had 7 numbers at this point. This is a ESPANA Classical nylon string grand concert size acoustic guitar. Sometime in 1996, Jackson went to what are known as the 96 serials, where every bolt-on serial made in Japan started with 96. sometimes in old guitars (80s early 90s) 1st and/or 3rd digit is missing when is '0' and the result is serials with 6 or 7 digits (ex. GREAT CONDITION, GREAT TONE, GREAT PLAYER! You have to look at the models in production that year. ![]()
